NASHVILLE, TN – Friday, November 7, 2025
ProviderTrust is deeply saddened to announce the unexpected passing of Dale Clay, our Chief Technology Officer, on Nov. 6, 2025. Clay, 37, was more than a colleague, but a respected leader whose patience, wisdom, and quiet strength shaped not only our technology, but our people, for more than a decade.
Clay embodied the ProviderTrust value system: a pillar of truth, goodness, openness, commitment, partnership, positivity, and curiosity. As a dedicated leader at ProviderTrust, he spent the last 11 years leading data, engineering, and IT teams, spearheading ProviderTrust’s software development strategy. He pioneered ProviderTrust’s core business model, combining data science and analytics to identify patterns in healthcare fraud, waste, and abuse. Today, his strategy has been widely adopted throughout the healthcare technology market.
“Dale was more than our CTO. He was the backbone of our culture. Dale represented so much of what we aspire to be as team members, living out our values at a level of excellence that defines ProviderTrust today,” Chris Redhage, ProviderTrust co-founder, said. “Even more than a colleague, he was a community leader, a man of strong faith and uncommon wisdom, an incredible husband and father, a mentor, cherished friend, and secret songwriter. I have been meditating on the lyrics from his 2019 ‘Life to the Full’ song, where he described his love for Jesus, his Lord and Savior.”
You were my first love, You were my first home,
There is nothing that can separate us now,
There will be none before, There will be none beside,
Oh you’re my portion and my reward,
You give life and life to the full,
“Dale, you lived a full life. You influenced so many across all walks of life. I look forward to hugging you when I get to see you in heaven. Well done, brother.”
Our founders and executive leadership team are united in continuing Clay’s legacy of integrity and innovation, serving our clients with the utmost care and precision that he helped bring to life.
His legacy will live on in the fabric of our company culture for years to come.
ProviderTrust’s office will close at 12 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 10, to allow employees to attend Clay’s memorial service. We invite our community to pause and join us in remembering him. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the following organizations:
- UrbanPromise Nashville, where Clay served as a board member.
- Ethos Church, where he served as a dedicated member and worship leader.
